Old West Fun Invades Coleman, Michigan

Come on down for a day of family fun!

 

Imagine what the Old West was like back in the late 1800’s.  Now imagine a miniaturized “kid sized” old west town on a 30 acre horse ranch in sleepy old Coleman, Michigan.  That is what is happening at the 4th annual Salt River Old West Harvest Fest. 

 

Families will have an opportunity to see what farm life is like and experience the Old West up close and personal.  Located at Jeremy and Erin Steward’s farm located on Geneva Road five miles south of US 10 take the M-18 exit South toward Coleman. 

 

The employees and volunteers will all be dressed up in authentic Old West costumes to add atmosphere to the fun day and all those who come to visit are encouraged to “dress up” too.

 

 There are almost too many activities to list. An elaborate corn maze, pumpkin patch, adorable mini horses & mini donkeys, a wagon wheel petting coral with all sorts of other critters, gold panning, a Trading Post (where the kids exchange their gold for treats), food and concessions, and candle making.  Who knows, some cattle rustlers or bandits may even show up on horseback.  And let’s not forget a good old fashion Hay ride down by the river!

 

A true family experience, your day at Salt River promises to be both educational and fun.  Children will have an opportunity to learn a little about the heritage and history of horses, Salt River, and the early days of Coleman, Michigan.

Admission is only $5 per person and includes an Old West Candle made by the kids.  Hay ride, Corn Maze, Learn to Calf Rope and entry into our Wagon Wheel Petting Coral.
